WECA Items of Interest

Results of the WECA General Membership Meeting and Officer Vote on Thursday, May 17th The Annual Election of Officers was held at the WECA General Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 17th. A detailed e-mail with the nomination and election process is posted in the entry below this  A brief recap is provided here. Congratulations to the winning slate!

·               The WECA Slate received 132 votes (President: Noreen Bryan; Vice President: Vicki McMullen; Corresponding Secretary: Jacques Gelin; Treasurer: Dennis Cain; Recording Secretary: Jan Balkam).
·               An opposing slate was nominated from the floor and received 32 votes (President: Robin Nelson Corridon; Vice President: Marian Hull; Recording Secretary: Thomas Weko; Treasurer: Daryl Newhouse).

We look forward to having Noreen, Vicki, Jacques, Dennis and Jan continue their service to the West End community through their WECA officer election. And many thanks to our outgoing President, Susan Prince, for her dedicated and tireless efforts in representing our community for the past three years. Please note that the next WECA meeting will be in September.

East Rockville Civic Association Yard Sale on June 9th – Seller spots available!
Spots for the East Rockville Civic Association (ERCA) Trea$ures & Tra$h yard sale on Saturday, June 9th from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the park next to the Pump House (401 South Horners Lane) are available now. Come sell your wares, your plants, your crafts, or anything else legal to sell – or just plan to browse and see what treasure you can find. Sellers space is $5.00 for non-ERCA members; bring your own table, chairs canopies etc. Contact  vp.erca@gmail.com  for more information.

 Rockville’s Hometown Holidays Celebration is May 26th – 28th!
There is A LOT of activity taking place just down the street as Rockville hosts the 24th Annual Hometown Holidays Celebration over the Memorial Day weekend. The weekend will be full of live (free!) music, great food, and family activities – and a fun chance to catch-up with your neighbors. And remember to catch the Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade on Monday, May 28th, beginning at 9:00am (Note: the parade starts at 10:30am).
